In the last decade movies went from being my primary source of entertainment to second behind television.
That's because shows like ' The Sopranos', 'Breaking Bad' and 'Mad Men' have surpassed - in terms if originality and storylines - virtually anything Hollywood has produced.
Thank god for independent films and subtitles.
But all this was a long way to say I've been watching television again. This time it was 'The Almighty Johnsons'.
There is something quintessentially Kiwi about it that makes it a treat to watch.
The story is original and in Olaf it has my favourite character in years.
Unfortunately next week's episode is the last of the series. Hopefully it will get renewed.
